When she was a teenager, the author's favorite aunt told her that hats need "attitude." Frances has loved them since that day!

Frances Applequist was born in Newark, New Jersey. Over six decades, Frances lived in numerous towns across the state and fell in love with the rich colonial history of the area. As a young woman, she also developed a life-long love of horses. Throughout his childhood, she haunted historical sites with her younger son, Matthew, including the locations in this novel. Starting in her forties, Frances attended college and became in instructor at Centenary College, pursuing her love of literature. She shared her love for their country with her older son, Mark, and he reinforced her respect for the military throughout his long service with the National Guard. Her husband, Ken, brings balance to their lives with his love, support, and spirituality. Her brother, Daniel, shares with her his knowledge and passion for America’s founding and helped guide the research for this project.

Nathan Ross and the American Revolution is the culmination of every person and event in Frances’ life. Now living in Raleigh, North Carolina, she is ready to share this act of love with you.
